The N110’s specs directly mirror those of the N120: a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, Intel 945 integrated graphics, a 160GB hard drive, and Windows XP Home Edition. We were a bit surprised that the N110 didn’t perform as well as the N120, since their specs are almost identical. That said, the N110 performed as well as or better than most other netbooks we have reviewed, with the exception of its handling of graphics. It completed our iTunes encoding test in 20 minutes and 16 seconds, faster than the Archos 10 and the 10-inch Acer Aspire One AOD150 , as well as nearly 90 seconds faster than the average for this category. It was about a minute slower than the N120, though, and 6 minutes slower than the VIA Nano–equipped Samsung NC20.
The N110 completed our Windows Media Encoder test in 28 minutes and 33 seconds, about a minute slower than the N120, but slightly better than the Aspire One and Archos 10. Running a BitDefender virus scan in the background added about 8 minutes to this time. Its Cinebench score of 828 was on a par with most other netbooks: It beat the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 by almost 100 points but couldn’t keep up with the Asus Eee PC 1000HE .
